The Williams Tube
WELCOME TO
WILLIAMS TUBE

The Williams Tube was invented by Professor Sir Freddie Williams. It was the world's first random access digital storage device.

Working with Tom Kilburn, Sir Freddie successfully used the Williams Tube storage device in early computers, and applied for British and United States patents between 1946 and 1949.
